Food Waste in Singapore- Excess is a trend

Indeed a fruitful lesson SDG 12. #sdg4qualityeducation #sdg12 #globalschoolsprogram

In Singapore alone food waste is half of the daily waste produced. https://lnkd.in/gbmjYKCh

As an extension to establish the need of nutrients in the soil and excess nutrient overload and excess focused on the impact of excess in our lives. Integrated within the curriculum, the extension task focus on students to learn about key questions :

What causes food waste ?

What is the impact on the environment?

What can we do ? #future #food #students

If even 10% reduction is seen in Singapore’s food import, country could save enormous amount in spoilage produce.

As a part of a lesson , students were able to Identify that with the combined efforts of the government, citizens, and the private sector, it is highly likely there will be less strain on Semakau Landfill in the future and food waste will become manageable. #Semakau
